Bioconversion Extract of Dang-Gui-Liu-Huang Tang, effective to inflammatory diseases related to cancer
The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (NIKOM) (President Eungse Lee) was awarded an outstanding poster presentation award on an international conference through its research on ‘DYT-BE Suppress Proliferation and COX-2 Expression through the AKT pathway in HT-29’.
On the 2019 International Symposium and Annual Meeting of the KSABC held on June 20 for three days at the Busan Haeundae Grand Hotel, an outstanding poster presentation award was given to ‘Study results on the anti-inflammatory effects of bioconversion extract of Dang-Gui-Liu-Huang Tang in the colon cancer cells’
President Eungse Lee noted that “Bioconversion extract from Dang-Gui-Liu-Huang Tang has high possibility of it being utilized to improve the conditions of inflammatory diseases related to cancer in cancer patients.” and added “NIKOM will continue to support the project to have it industrialized in the future.”Meanwhile, NIKOM has been establishing the Korean Medicine Ingredient Bank as a promotional project of the Korean Medicine industry by the Ministry of Health and Welfare since 2014, and has secured and is distributing 6800 species of functionally improved Korean Medicine Bio-materials and 1500 species of natural materials developed by integrating bioconversion technology on Korean Medicine ingredient.
