Introduction to the Modernization Project (Modernization of Dosage From) of Korean Medicine
Starting from the year 2012, efforts to improve the convenience of intake and portability and efforts to expand health insurance coverage of Korean Medicine has been made on 56 standard prescriptions of Korean Medicine covered by health insurance by developing modernized dosage forms.

To develop high-quality Korean Medicine, efforts are taken to strengthen the production and supply base of Korean Medicine by introducing standard production process optimized for Korean Medicine Herbs and prescriptions, on the foundation of the ingredient’s safety and suitability secured through quality comparison analysis, sensory tests, hazardous material examination, etc.
The consistency in quality of Korean Medicine developed using standardized production process is ensured through analysis of index elements and element profiling, along with in vitro/in vivo evaluation for scientific verification of the medicine’s efficacy.
Through the modernization project (improvement of dosage form) of Korean Medicine, development of various dosage forms and quality management standards are being pursued to receive authorization from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and to have them registered for insurance. As a result, usage rates of Korean Medicine are rising through the alleviation of expense burden, improvement of intake convenience, and rising usage of young consumers.
We will vitalize the Korean Medicine market through means of developing new products based on modernized dosage forms, and will stand in the forefront of expanding the usage of Korean Medicine in Korean Medical clinics and enhancing the competitiveness of the medicine by securing consistency in the quality and effectiveness of medicines
