DonguiBogam is a historical Korean anthology
on medicine, written from 1596 to 1610 by Heo Jun, a Joseon Dynasty doctor who
served the royal court for 30 years and wrote eight medical books including DonguiBogam.
The world’s first book on medicine for(the
general public), Dongui Bogam, was published in many countries such as China
and Japan, and was recorded as a UNESCO Memory of the World by the 9th
International Advisory Committee in July 2009 in recognition of its domestic
and international contributions.
“DonguiBogam”, translates literally to “inheriting
traditional medicine of Joseon to build the standard of traditional medicine,”’
and it serves as a milestone that reflects the status of Eastern medicine. ‘Dongui
Bogam Academy’, we provides lectures on basic theory and clinical training of
Traditional Korean medicine to promote traditional Korean medicine, deliver
clinical technology to satisfy the demands of clinics, and provide
opportunities for various clinical experiences. The Academy is a forum to
exchange information on local needs and conditions, while providing education
on highly developed Traditional Korean medicine practices to reinforce the
international status of traditional medicine.
