The 10th Plenary Meeting of ISO TC249 was held in Bangkok


 

The 10th ISO/TC249 Plenary Meeting was held in Bangkok Thailand, June 2-6. The meeting was attended by 221 delegates from 12 countries, including Korea, as well as the WFCMS and WFAS, the ISO Central Secretariat.

※ WFAS(World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies)

 

Korea submitted 9 proposals including 3 proposals for the WG1, 1 proposal for the WG2, 1 proposal for WG3, 2 proposals for WG4, 1 proposal for WG5 and 1 proposal for JWG6.  “Sterile knife needle for single use” and “electrical cupping device” have been resolved at the plenary meeting to proceed to NP ballot. Two proposals such as “Chemical profiling of herbal medicines” and “smokeless moxibustion devices” have been resolved to be developed as Technical Report.

ISO/TC 249 took place the award ceremony for project leaders who had made a great contribution to develop international standards. The awards were given to 4 experts from Korea; Dr. Sang-Hoon Lee from Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine(KIOM)(ISO 20487:2019 Test method of single-use acupuncture needle for electrical stimulation), Ji-Hye Kim from KIOM(ISO 20498-1:2019 Computerized tongue image analysis system -- Part 1: General requirements), Dr. Oh-Sang Kwon from Wonkwang University, Young-Sang Kwon from Daeyomedi Cooperation(ISO 21366:2019 General requirements for smokeless moxibustion devices) and Dr. Woong-Mo Yang from Kyunghee University(ISO 20334:2018 Coding system of formulae).
