Korean Medicine: Current Status and Future Prospects, Current Practice of Korean Medicine, and Handbook of Korean Traditional Acupuncture are introduced below

With the worldwide advancement of medical technology coupled with an increase of chronic noncommunicable diseases due to aging populations, interest in traditional medicine of various countries is growing and much research is being produced to back its efficacy.



Korean Medicine has a long history as the traditional medicinal practice in Korea that achieves a harmony between humans and nature. It has worked to develop disease treatment and prevention techniques that maintain human body structure and balance of functions.



Additionally, in efforts to open new horizons for the future of medicine, the industry is working to develop and modernize medicines, integrative medicine and implement standardized clinical practice guidelines along with other research goals.



The National Development Institute for Korean Medicine (NIKOM) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare published four books on Korean Medicine English that will provide global traditional medicine specialists accurate information on Korean Medicine and develop exchange among specialists in this industry. Korean Medicine: Current Status and Future Prospects, Current Practice of Korean Medicine, and Handbook of Korean Traditional Acupuncture are introduced below.



Korean Medicine: Current Status and Future Prospects overviews the history of Korean Medicine and relevant policies, insurance schemes, and the education programs while Clinical Treatment of Korean Medicine includes acupuncture, cupping, chuna treatment, herbal medicines, and other disease treatment techniques used in Korean Medicine. Handbook of Korean Acupuncture is comprised of saam Taegeuk, and other acupuncture techniques, which are introduced in these publications for their high effectiveness in Korean clinics.



These publications are aimed to assist overseas clinicians, students of traditional medicine, public health and medical officials, and others interested in learning about Korean Medicine. Furthermore, these books are expected to help experts understand Korean Medicine and aid in clinical application of Korean Medicine techniques.
