Globalization and Korean Medicine

A project to share Korean Medicine with the world

Due to rapidly aging populations and corresponding increase in chronic diseases, the demand for traditional medicine is increasing globally. In turn, the market size is also expanding.

In accordance with such trends in global healthcare, the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare has been the standardization of education on, and promotion of traditional Korean Medicine through ‘the Globalization of Korean Medicine Promotion’ Project to strengthen global competitiveness since 2014. Additionally, the Ministry has continuously built relevant networks  by hosting international symposiums with leading institutes in traditional medicine from all over the world as well as with global organizations. Moreover, it has persistently promoted collaboration through joint research and information exchanges.

The ultimate goal is to foster the most efficient business that satisfies demand by increasing awareness of Korean Medicine in the global market and conducting annual surveys on understanding and needs.

Interested individuals from all nations are welcome to participate in this initiative to strengthen the position of Korean Medicine in the global healthcare market, and thereby further expand the basis of Korean Medicine.
